Am I eligible to join SAFRA?
SAFRA Membership is open to all existing and former Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) NSmen, full-time National Servicemen (NSFs), SAF Regulars, Defence Executive Officers and their dependents.
Which membership category or scheme am I eligible for?
You may refer to the following SAFRA membership categories and SAFRA Family Scheme:
ORDINARY
(A) MEMBERSHIP
For: All SAF Operationally Ready National Servicemen (NSmen) who have completed full-time National Service, as well as full-time National Servicemen (NSFs).
Applicants must be Singapore citizens or permanent residents.
Ordinary (A) Members will be converted to Ordinary (B) Members upon completion of their National Service liability (at the age of 50 years for officers and 40 years for other ranks).
ORDINARY
(B) MEMBERSHIP
For: All SAF National Servicemen who have completed full-time National Service and are no longer liable for National Service.
Applicants must be Singapore citizens or permanent residents.
ASSOCIATE
MEMBERSHIP
For: All serving members of the SAF, i.e., SAF Regulars and Defence Executive Officers.
VETERAN
LEAGUE MEMBERSHIP

SAFRA
FAMILY SCHEME (DEPENDENT MEMBERSHIP)
For: Female spouse and children aged between 5 to 20 years of SAFRA members (except those who are full-time National Servicemen, i.e. NSFs).
The SAFRA Family Scheme membership for dependents run concurrently with the principal SAFRA Membership. Its validity and related privileges shall lapse when the Principal SAFRA member resigns or ceases to be a SAFRA Member, or is suspended when his Membership fee is outstanding. SAFRA Family Scheme membership for children shall lapse when they reach 21 years of age.
Dependent applicants for SAFRA Family Scheme can be Singapore citizens, permanent residents or foreigners.

I am an SAFVC member, how do I apply for SAFRA Associate membership?
Please note that SAFRA Membership application for SAFVC Volunteers (SVs) is strictly by invitation only, as such applications over the counter or by any other means without the official invitation are not accepted. Eligible SVs will receive an invitation from SAFRA via mail for a 2-year SAFRA Associate Membership. SVs can choose to sign up for SAFRA Associate Membership as well as Dependent Membership for his/her dependents. SVs will need to write in to SAFRA Membership Services if they missed the initial invitation and SAFRA will review the SV's application. Upon the SV's Associate Membership expiry, a renewal invitation will also be sent to the SVs who are still eligible for SAFRA Membership.

How do I renew my SAFRA Membership?
Renewal of your membership can be done using the following channels

3) GIRO payment
Your SAFRA Membership may also be renewed from deductions via Ministry/Statutory Board salary, National Service Make-Up Pay or SAFRA DBS Card.
Why should I renew my SAFRA Membership and the SAFRA Family Scheme in advance before it expires?
You get to enjoy a seamless continuation of your member’s benefits and privileges when you renew your membership and the SAFRA Family Scheme in advance.
In addition, you will not be required to pay the $10.90/year (inclusive of 9% GST) for your 2nd and each subsequent Dependent member(s) in the SAFRA Family Scheme if you renew before it expires.
Note: Membership fee for renewal of the first Dependent member and administrative fee for newly added Dependent members shall apply.

I would like to resign from my membership. How do I go about it?
If you wish to resign from your SAFRA Membership, please email mship_svc@safra.sg and include your name and Membership number. Alternatively, you can write in to us and mail to SAFRA Membership Services Division, 2 Telok Blangah Way, Singapore 098803.
I am going overseas. Is there a way to put my membership on hold or waive my fees?
Of course! You may apply to be placed on the list of Absent Members if you are leaving Singapore for a continuous period of one year. The membership fees will be waived for the listed period of absence (maximum 3 years).
To apply, please email mship_svc@safra.sg with your supporting documents (e.g. exit permit, letter from your employer or educational institute) at least one month before your departure.

Yes, they do enjoy the same benefits except the right to vote.
May I bring my family and/or friends to use the facilities at SAFRA clubs?
SAFRA clubs are open to members and their family and friends for most SAFRA-managed facilities. Do visit our website on the various club facilities for more information.
As a SAFRA member, do I have to pay to use the facilities at EnergyOne or to join the Interest Groups?
SAFRA Members are welcomed to join EnergyOne Gyms or Interest Groups at nominal rates.

Will I receive a physical SAFRA Membership Card?
With effect from 3rd October 2020, SAFRA will cease the issuance of physical membership cards for new membership sign-up and renewals. Members may log in to the SAFRA Mobile App to download their e-card to access the membership benefits and privileges.
Members holding on to a valid physical SAFRA membership card may continue to use the card until further notice.
Is my SAFRA Membership card transferable?
Your SAFRA Membership is exclusive to you and is non-transferable. Do remember to present your membership card when using SAFRA club facilities. Any misuse of SAFRA Membership may result in memberships being revoked.
How do I replace my SAFRA card if it's lost or damaged?
With effect from 3rd October 2020, SAFRA will cease the issuance of physical membership cards for new membership sign-up and renewals. Members may log in to the SAFRA Mobile App to download their e-card to access the membership benefits and privileges.
For lost or damaged SAFRA DBS Credit/Debit card, please block your card immediately using DBS services and request for a replacement.
