Ten SAF Veterans’ League Commitment-to-Defence (C2D) Ambassadors held two engagement sessions each with pre-schoolers from 10 centres under My First Skool, the pre-school arm of NTUC First Campus Co-operative.
Subjects like Water Is Precious, Don’t Waste Food, Racial Harmony, Our National Day, the Importance of National Service and the SAF were presented to the pre-schoolers whose ages range from 4 to 6.
“It’s always a joy engaging these children. The challenge is simplifying the important core messages to a level that they can easily understand and assimilate including through interactive play,” said 1WO (RET) M. Haniffa.
A ground-up initiative by SAFVL in June 2019, the intergenerational collaboration with My First Skool recognizes the importance of the formative pre-school years where early intervention is crucial for the pre-schoolers to get a head start in emotional and social development.
The C2D Ambassadors also engage primary and secondary school students, fulltime national servicemen and NSmen as part of the wider C2D Programme.
