Merlion Pencil Holder Craft Workshop
The importance of Go Green. Unknowingly, we produce waste everyday and some of it may be used in the creation of a functional item. As part of Hans Art Gallere’s efforts to share more crafts ideas, we can repurpose discarded items and give them a new life!
'Synergy in Culture' by Apsara Asia
Synergy in Cultures showcases a multi-cultural dance performance featuring the ethnic dances of Singapore. One of the special features of the performance is a cross-cultural dance segment depicting the concept that arts has no barriers and it’s purely based on a joyous experience. This performance is choreographed and performed by professional dancers of the various ethnic groups. “Synergy in Cultures” aims to showcase the richness of the traditional dance forms and the multi-faceted talents of artists in presenting cross-cultural dances, thus conferring the notion that “Dance has no race, religion or language; but is based purely on rhythm, expression, body movements and joyous experience.”

"Together We Can Overcome!" Wall Mural by Liow Yeng Lin at SAFRA Toa Payoh
The COVID-19 pandemic has changed our everyday life in ways that would have been unthinkable just a few months ago while people around the world are reeling from the impact. However, amid the darkness, many of us did not stop loving and caring for each other. There are also individuals, companies, organisations, and grassroot groups springing up to give warmth and help to the vulnerable by providing free meals, offering accommodation, delivering grocery packs, and making cloth masks for distribution. All these acts of generosity have uplifted spirits as we slowly emerge from the challenges brought by the pandemic.
This pandemic has thrust us to be more present in how we live and develop a newfound understanding of ourselves. It has granted us permission to unwind and enjoy simple pleasures in life. It has also shepherded us learn new skills and engage in interesting activities that boost our intellectual and physical wellness. The outbreak dramatically changed our lives and transformed relationships with our families. Many have started to re-establish lost connections and strengthen family bonds by propelling us to interact more. This helps to build a sense of togetherness that alleviates anxiety and fear.
Despite the uncertainty, it is important to recognise and be grateful for what we have, stay connected with those we love and care for, and to lend a helping hand to those who needed it. We are part of a collective effort.
Together, we can overcome it.
